Privacy (beta draft)
Last updated 1 October 2026. Short version: we delete your clip and results 48 hours after upload (7 days if you're signed in, so they stay in your library), and you can delete them yourself sooner.
What we collect
- The video you upload, an optional photo of a place, the template you pick or the words you type, an optional note, and the videos we make.
- Your email address, so you can sign in with a code (no password) and get an email when your video is ready or if it fails, plus your credit balance and a history of credits added and spent.
- When you buy credits, our payment provider collects your payment details, name and billing address. We never see or store your card number; we only receive confirmation of what you bought.
- To stop abuse, a one-way scrambled (salted hash) version of your IP address, never the address itself. We erase even that after 7 days.
- Anonymous counts, such as how many videos were made, how long they took and how many failed. No footage and nothing you typed.
- No advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics.
Who receives your content, and why
Only what's needed to make your video, and only for that purpose:
- Our hosting provider runs this website, handles your requests and briefly stores large clips while we prepare them.
- Our email provider delivers sign-in codes and video notifications to your email address.
- Our storage and database provider privately stores your clip, a still frame from it and your finished video until they're deleted. Files are only reachable through short-lived private links.
- Our AI video provider makes your video. It receives your clip, a few still frames from it, the template's picture or your photo of a place, your words or note, and the scene description.
- Our payment provider sells you credits as the merchant of record: it takes the payment, handles tax and receipts, and keeps your payment details under its own privacy policy, shown at checkout.
These providers may process your content outside the United States. We don't sell your content or data, and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
AI training
EMotoFX does not use your clips, photos or videos to train AI models. Our AI video provider and the companies whose models it runs handle what they receive under their own terms. They may, for example, keep content that their safety systems flag.
How long it's kept
- With us: your clip, frames and videos are deleted automatically 48 hours after you upload, or 7 days after if you were signed in (so you can find them in your library), or straight away when you tap “Delete”. What you typed is erased at the same time.
- At our AI video provider: it keeps the videos it makes for at least 7 days, and we can't delete them sooner. Files we send it are marked as temporary.
- Your account: your email, balance and credit history are kept while you have an account. Ask us and we'll delete them. Purchase records are kept by our payment provider as the law requires.
Your private link
Each upload gets a private link. The secret part sits after the “#”, which browsers never send to servers, so it doesn't appear in our logs. Videos load through short-lived links that expire within about half an hour. Anyone you give your full link to can see that upload until it's deleted.
